Role overview 

The Product Owner is responsible for the gathering and analysis of business requirements, understanding of our underlying systems and seeing through the development of features and services. You will work closely with the business stakeholders and development teams, helping to bring together an understanding of product vision, and its benefits to the end user.   


Scope of duties: 

  • Compose Features, Epics, Acceptance Criteria, Test Criteria, the Definition of Ready (DoR), review stories before closing, release planning.  
  • Make product decisions for the business, negotiate priority and business values to align with the product vision while ensuring the agile team(s) are moving to accomplish the envisioned outcomes.  
  • Manage respective product and team backlogs, groom and refine the backlog periodically.  
  • Oversee the development stages and provide input where clarification on the product vision is required.  
  • Anticipate the needs of the customer or internal stakeholders based on understanding of the the business current state, and its pain points.  
  • Act as the primary liaison between the teams and the customers. The candidate in this role has to make sure the information flow is concise and clear so that there is no misinterpretation. The Product Owner must ensure that the goal and the vision are correctly aligned with the work items on the product backlog.  
  • Review and accept user stories, ensure acceptance criteria is met prior to release of completed product into production.  
  • Lead business acceptance activities in test and production environments validating the product behaviour meets the expectations of the business stakeholders and Presidents  


What You Offer 

  • 3+ years of Experience with translation and breakdown of business needs into clear, concise development tasks with acceptance criteria.  
  • Experience working with engineers on day to day scrum-related activities such as removing blockers, task prioritization, etc.  
  • Strong written communication skills, with experience writing technical documentation or user stories.  
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills, able to discuss topics at a technical level and a business level to get an understanding from all stakeholders.  
  • Self-motivated and driven. Commitment to contribute in any way possible that gets the job done. Willing follow urgent matters through to completion.  
  • Familiar with Software Development Life Cycle within an agile environment.  
  • Software development experience on an iOS, Web, or Android application. Successfully shipped a mobile or web product for an enterprise client.
